Conant High School Team

Posted by Alexandra Cowen at 2009-04-29 16:21 |

From April 19-26, high school students from Jaffrey, NH, left North America for the first time. Read here how they spent their week with Camino Seguro!

Paddy McCarthy led an intrepid group of 4 high school students from Jaffrey, NH. For all the students this was their first time outside of North America and they were all ready to embrace the cultural differences presented to them. The group worked in the main building assisting English teachers and in the kitchen. They also worked with students in Miriam Ochoa´s classroom, making instruments out of recycled materials such as plastic bottles, paper plates and tin bottle caps. For our Saturday excursion the team joined forces with the Falmouth High School support team (at Safe Passage the same week) to take both 5 primaria classes to Aqua Magic, a water park on the beach in Puerto San Jose. We had almost 50 students and 20 volunteers, but it´s hard to say who enjoyed themselves more.
