The "Sillas de Esperanza" is a project inspired by an ongoing dialogue within the Safe Passage Community that focuses on finding ways to create a more peaceful world.

Children have been encouraged to explore their own ideas of peace, and exhibit their thoughts through the boundless medium of art. Each child was given a chair and their own choice of paint, sponges, paint brushes, and stencils in order to create their own vision of peace.

Where the children themselves do not have the mobility to travel outside of their community, their artwork can speak for itself and reach an entirely new audience. 

Our hope is that¨Las Sillas De Esperanza¨ inspires further movements of artistic expression and communication about what makes us human, because social boundaries do not exist within color and paint.
