Día del Niño, or Children’s Day, is celebrated in Guatemala every October 1st.
Throughout the country, children are celebrated in their schools through various games and special activities, and children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite characters.
At Safe Passage, we also celebrate Children’s Day; it’s a holiday both our staff and students look forward to with great excitement.
This year, our teachers worked hard to prepare a lot of fun activities for the day! We invited a magician and a storyteller to entertain the students. Special snacks and treats were handed out and faces were painted.
We also welcome a group of 36 volunteers from TELUS International Guatemala, who not only assisted in all of our preparations but had a fun time playing with our students and making them feel special.
